In order not to be left without electricity during power outages, as well as to use electrical appliances where there is no electrification at all, you need an electric generator. This does not have to be a purchased device; for unpretentious consumers, a home-made generator is enough. You can make it on the basis of the engine from the washing machine.

Materials:

  • The engine from the washing machine;
  • acrylic or epoxy resin;
  • neodymium magnets 30×5 mm — 16 pcs. 
  • lawn mower.

For the manufacture of the generator, it is necessary to remove the rotor from the working electric motor from the washing machine.

The anchor needs to be ground down by reducing its diameter. This can be done by holding its shaft in a drilling machine, and grinding the core with a grinder with a petal circle. It is even easier to do it on a lathe.

On the machined anchor, you need to install 8 rows of 2 neodymium magnets. The polarity of neighboring pairs must alternate.

Now you need to fix the magnets with resin. For this, formwork is assembled at anchor from a CD and a piece of plastic pipe. It can be glued with hot glue. Then resin is poured into it.

After the resin has hardened, the formwork is cut off. Then you grind the anchor to balance it. As a result, it should enter the motor stator without any problems.

The engine is assembled back with the already modified rotor. Now you need to determine its working winding with a multimeter, since 220V can be removed from it when the generator is untwisted. In this case, it is the yellow and red wire. The blue core of the starting winding is cut off.

Fasteners are welded to the generator. Then it is screwed to the board. On the side you need to fix the gasoline engine, you can put the motor from the lawn mower. Then they are connected by a drive belt. A socket connected to the wires of the generator is also fixed to the board.

Now, when starting a gasoline engine, it will spin the generator, which allows you to get 220V. The current frequency is not as stable as in a conventional network, so it is better not to connect sensitive electrical appliances to it without a voltage regulator. However, such a generator is capable of powering a pump, fan, etc.
