DIY Freon bottle camping stove 2022

I welcome all lovers of crafting, I offer for consideration instructions for making a simple furnace from a freon cylinder. The homemade product has a hob that heats up to high temperatures. On the stove, you can cook fish soup, fry meat, boil a kettle of water, and so on. The stove is also equipped with a vertical loading, and you can heat it with fuel pellets, however, it will also work from chips and sticks. With such a stove, you can easily heat a tent and even a small house or garage, and to monitor the combustion process, the author made a viewing window. The process of making homemade:

Step one. We prepare and cut the balloon
The first step is to release all the gas from the cylinder and unscrew the valve, drain the contents. The author uses a freon cylinder, this gas does not burn, and it is not necessary to wash the cylinder. If you are not sure if there was a flammable gas in the cylinder, it is highly recommended to flush the cylinder, as it will explode when cut.

Next, we clean off all the paint from the cylinder, it is not able to withstand high temperatures. To make the paint easier to clean off, some craftsmen burn the cylinders in a fire.

Step two. Firebox, legs, ash collector
We cut a hole in the furnace body and mount the firebox, here the author used a piece of square-shaped pipe.
As for the legs, pieces of pipes or steel bars can be welded on, but the oven will be heavier with them. As for the ash collector, in the lowest part the author installed a piece of a round pipe of large diameter, and ash will be collected in it. This chamber is closed with a sheet steel damper, which makes it easy to clean the oven.

Step three. viewing window
We equip a viewing window in the furnace, which will allow you to observe the intensity of fuel combustion. So you can notice in time when the fuel runs out, and in general it is quite pleasant to watch the fire.
We make a simple frame for glass, it is desirable to use heat-resistant glass. It is impossible to fix the glass rigidly; there must be thermal gaps for its expansion.

Step four. Door and pads
We install a door made of sheet steel on the firebox, you can hang it on bolts and nuts, this is a fairly reliable hinge. To prevent rusting of the thread, it can be lubricated with graphite grease or graphite.
To prevent the legs from being loaded in the ground, the author welded washers to them, or you can cut nickels from sheet steel.

Step five. Cooking plate and ash pan damper
We install a hob in the upper part of the furnace, we use a thicker sheet of steel for this, since thin metal will quickly burn out. We weld the plate well into place, avoiding cracks through which smoke will go.

We also mount the damper for the ash pan, you can cut it out of sheet steel. It is easy and simple to hang the damper on a bolt and nuts. Now, by opening the damper, you can easily clean the stove from ash.

Step six. Smoke outlet, grates, painting
We make a smoke pipe for a pipe, a pipe can be made of any size from sheet steel. To bend the plate, we make a series of cuts, bend and weld the structure.

The author also made a neck that allows you to load fuel pellets into the oven. To do this, you need a piece of square pipe and sheet steel. Be sure to make grates for the furnace, they can be made of thick wire. At the end, the oven remains to be painted with heat-resistant paint. The furnace is ready, everything works fine, it is better to store the homemade product in a dry room so that the metal does not rust from the inside.
